How is our Child and Family Center different from a Daycare Center?
It’s a place where parents and caregivers stay with their children throughout their visit
and are responsible for the activities, supervision and safety.
Parents/caregivers are encouraged to initiate and
participate in activities that are going on during program hours.
MISSION
Offers free high quality programs for families and children 0-5 years of age.
The children will participate in play based learning.
We will accommodate families and caregivers in an informal
atmosphere with a range of services and resources.
Families will participate in fun plan activities such as:
- Reading, story telling, singalongs and games
- Gross motor activities
- Resources from Educators, and other professionals
Families and caregivers will be able to find support, make personal connections, and access a network of resources. Such as workshops, group sessions, resources provided with information and practical strategies for child development and personal wellbeing.
Families will be able to have access to services on site, such as:
Clothing exchange (donate gently used clothing for exchange)
Nutrition snack, and healthy eating workshops
Cooking workshops
Resources lending library ( for families to borrow a variety of toys, books and videos to use at home for a week or two)
Trips and special Outings ( Organized day trips, and special outings throughout the year of different sights and activities in Chicago).
Health Policy
Children that are sick should avoid attending the program, until all symptoms are gone. When your child is ill, they may be susceptible to other illnesses. They may also pass on their illness to others.
If at any time the staff feels that your child is too sick, or contagious, access to the program may be denied.
The Revival House Child and Family Center is a community space. All Parents/Caregivers are encouraged to help keep the center tidy, by picking up after their children and ensuring that the books, toys and equipment is being used properly.
We encouraged respect, cooperation and sensitivity from all the participant in the program.
